DECISION Product Structure and Components

DECISION is a platform which includes a rich set of functional modules and tools intended to model, create and maintain a representation of the business logic of the organization. This representation is in the form of rule structures which can automatically be exported to operational systems such as BRMS, core banking, core insurance, and ERP in the organization.

DECISION is a combination of a highly standard platform based on up-to-date JEE technology, together with a rich set of functional modules which provide automatic and manual tools for modeling and maintaining the business logic of the organization.

DECISION Platform

DECISION is based on an enterprise-grade platform with a stack of open and standard technology based on JEE, XML and web services. The platform includes a flexible mediation layer, with strong import and export tools. The import tools enable importing data from an external system to facilitate creation of the organization's Glossary and the Decision Repository.

Import Tools - The Import Adaptor is typically used in the initial set-up process – which is called Corporate Decision Knowledge Base, where the data entities (Glossary and Decision Repository, which include decisions, rule families and fact types) are created semiautomatically from what exists in the operational environment of the enterprise.

The import mechanism of the DECISION mediation layer enables the organization to create a basic level of representation and then build its business logic according to the Decision Model standard. As described above, Corporate Decision Knowledge Base is composed of manual and automatic processes; the Import Adaptor is a tool which has self-learning capabilities and is able to automatically link semi-structured information existing in documents from various formats to each other and the glossary. In the future, the Import Adaptor will also enable automatic conversion into a structured glossary via artificial intelligence mechanisms.

The automatic process uses parsing rules which are configurable and are based on regular expressions, synonyms and proximity in order to identify specific words, terms and values and map them into the glossary as fact types . according to the standardized structure of the DECISION model principles.

The SMEs manage the process to "help" the automatic process by confirming certain synonyms for certain terms. For example - Employee Number and Employee ID may be synonyms. After this is determined once, the system has 'learned' it, and in this way it become more and more 'intelligent', by 'learning' more terms as the process progresses.

Eventually, the system can identify, for example, almost any instances of an employee ID. whether it is called Employee NUM or Employee # or other similar possibilities . and map it to the correct term and the correct format according to the DECISION model principles. Integration Tools „Ÿ Essential to export the business logic reported in the Decision Repository to the operational systems such as BRMS (using RIF), core banking, core insurance, ERP, etc. This automatic export mechanism ensures that the rule structures remain simple and easy to change and maintain, and, most importantly, complete synchronization between the organizationfs knowledge base and operations. Both the Integration and Import tools support standard protocols such as web services, XML, etc., but are also easily customizable to support specified formats existing in specific organizations.
